Its about the past & the future , the Children & Grandchildren

Today, just like almost every other Singaporean, we too paid our tribute to the late MM Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Its impossible for us to go over to the Parliament House with 3 kids and waiting for so many hours, therefore, the next best thing we can do is to head down to Pasir Ris East CC.

Shona went with her schoolmates on Friday and have since been telling us about how the late MM Mr Lee Kuan Yew contributed to the modern Singapore. She is able to relate to the stories about old Singapore very well and appreciate all the conveniences we have now and all thanks to our experience staying in the kampong during the filming of THROWBACK : BALIK KAMPONG.

So to be fair, today Neelu and Mehr went to pay their tributes and got to pen down their thoughts as well. A very solemn moment in the hall as everyone paid their respect and write down their thoughts.

As we walked home, we talked about how lucky we are now that we have water directly from our taps and not getting from the well anymore. How fortunate we are now with the comfort of fans, AC and lights at home, unlike those days in the kampong when we have to use oil lamps for lighting and "satay" fans to keep cool.

Anyway, back at home, after our usual hug and kiss routine, the girls went to bed. However, since I was quite bored, I went over to my baby Shona who is sleeping and start whispering to her and telling her how much I love them and how much I miss my babies now that they are all grown up. Suddenly I got a response from her! Shona said with her eyes still closed, "Nevermind Mommy, when I grow up you can play with my children." WHAT?!!! and so this "evil mommy" probe further.

Mommy : Your children?! How many children will you have?
Shona : I dunno
Mommy : How many do you want to have?
Shona : Three Only
Mommy : Oh okie, but what if your children are like u ? They don't want to stay with me, they want to go home with their Mommy and Papa
Shona : Okie, then you can go to my house and play with them
Mommy : What? So when u grow up, you are going to leave me and Papa alone in this house?
Shona : (By now a lil irritated) But you always say you and Papa want to spend time together right? So now I give you chance!

That just got me burst out laughing at her but I dun think Shona find that funny at all!. With a very unhappy face, she said "Can I sleep now Mommy?" and off she went back to sleep hugging the bolster!

However, that got me thinking. Has she really planned that far ahead or is she just entertaining me hoping that I will shut up and let her sleep. Haiz.....

Why do the kids grow up so fast?!

Finally after 6 years, I am back!

AHHHHHHHCHOOOOOOO!!!

Phew... its really dusty in here, Oh well, why not? Its been more than 6 years since I last blogged.

I stopped blogging just after I found out that I am pregnant with my No.3.

Anyway, let's do a lil recap of how my life have changed over these years.

  • I am now a Mom to 3 princesses full of DRAMA!
  • I am now a Stay At Home Mom
  • I am also their Momager, managing their involvement in the TV Industry
  • I spent most of my time volunteering in the kids school

Last but not least , our family is in Singapore's 1st ever family reality show :"Throwback : Balik Kampong"!!! Well, I'll go into that later.

Let's start with an introduction of my 3 girls.

Our eldest Neelufer Zahra, she is 10yrs old now and is our pillar of strength. She is always ready for her sisters in times of needs, no matter how mischievous they are at times. She is one creative girl. She enjoys fashion designing,  be it dresses for her dolls or fashion accessories. She loves acting, singing and definitely dancing!
A DRAMA QUEEN is what we call her.

Our 2nd born, Mehrnaz Zahra will be turning 8yrs old this October and is in Primary 2 now.

She is our WARRIOR PRINCESS. I am sure that if you scroll down, you can read more on her. She was born a premature baby and had to be hospitalised for a month A very big scare for our family. In her first 3]4 years of life, she was such a terror! A very hot-tempered lil girl, with a very strong character. We learned more on parenting in a very difficult way thru Mehrnaz. Her tantrums are scary and I am sure her daycare teachers can vouch for that! However, over the years our hot-tempered lil girl changed for the better and really much better! Apart from the fact, that her strong character remains, she also becomes more expressive(hmmm... sometimes not very good) and very compassionate.

During her 1st year in primary school, it was quite a nightmare for us as she do not see the importance of school. Maybe, its also because since her eldest sister adapted to primary school easily, we expected the same from her(that's our mistake). Anyway, we realised that Mehrnaz is different , so we decided not to  go too hard nor too soft with her. Alhamdulillah(Thanks to the Almighty), she changed this year! She became more responsible and no more complaints from teachers.

Now, let's welcome the BABY of our family!!!!!!

Roushana Zahra is her name and was born on 22nd October 2009. Alhamdulillah, she was born healthy. She is a very blessed baby, coz 9 months of her arrival, my dream of becoming a Stay Home Mom came true. Her sisters decided to call her SHONA in short but at time they call her the MONSTERESS. I had the privilege to breastfeed her for 2 years and that is definitely a joy for me. We spend so much time bonding during our breastfeeding journey. Anyway, life wasn't a bed of roses definitely. Its not easy having a family based on a single income, however, with determination we pulled through. I stopped unnecessary spending and we even made the decision to move into a smaller flat.

Now that they are much older, things are improving slowly by the grace of God. Next year, my baby will be joining her sister in the primary school too! Oh how time flies!

Roushana is a still trying to find her identity. She is sometimes sweet like Neelu, at times temperamental like Mehrnaz and most of the time so whiny like a BABY! She is also the "clown" of our family, always making us all burst into laughter (will go into that next time). She is always full of energy and her imagination can really go wild!!!!

The two common things these sisters share is their love for camera and dressing up! So thats why all the three of them are in the TV industry

Gosh! Its almost 1 am now here in Singapore and I've gotta end my post here,

I promise to back really soon!!

Till then GOODNITE from the AZIMULLAH FAMILY
